The question itself isn’t bizarre or idiotic. All you have to do it turn on your own webcam. The quality will be really crappy, but it works. The idea of scanning a mirror is pretty funny, though.

scanning mirrors is difficult. you’re totally not doing it right if it didn’t work. but don’t worry about it; it’s way hard. just go buy a mirror.

Very simple answer:
Do you have video chat capabilities? Turn on the video chat and maximize the screen. You will be able to see yourself in the video chat. Instand mirror.
It’s stupid to try to scan a mirror… but good idea. Why not just cut little holes in a big mirror and plop it right down in front of your computer screen so you could see yourself AND your screen. Duh. (I hope you catch the sarcasm)
Scanning a mirror won’t work. They built it that way so that us mere mortals could never capture infinity. But do you REALLY want to risk a thing like that happening to your computer?
Turn off your monitor.
you are probably scanning the mirror upside down. i did this myself and now the mirror is my background.
